It's for young adult readers, but I was curious about the title "Secret Vampire" and so read the back's description: A 16-year-old girl (Poppy - love that name) diagnosed with terminal cancer. Her years-long friend James (a vampire) seeks to save her life by turning Poppy into one of the undead. The author consulted with an R.N. regarding symptoms specific to the sort of cancer Poppy's dying from, expectations for treatment and types of chemotherapy, etc. I work in the medical field and this especially made the story of interest. I'm currently reading it.A review to follow.
