In mid-February I'd seen this at Barnes & Noble, and wanted to buy it right then and there! :-) I'd first heard of this woman's story and graphic novel in 2007...but then a lot of harried real-life stuff made me temporarily forget. But $25 for? :-o Not with husband's birthday and Valentine's Day just past, and our wedding anniversary around the corner. How many times will you re-read ANY book, even a graphic novel? So I decided to wait. Yesterday while traipsing through the local used/out-of-print bookstore, looking for a particular Gothic cover, *bingo!*: There's THIS copy of "Persepolis" and in near mint condition. Price: $8.00. BUT...with my trade-in credit I paid a grand total of $1.41. :-DIt is an EXCELLENT, absorbing, true-life story of a very young Iranian girl living through the Iranian Revolution, beginning in the late '70s. Marjane was born in approximately 1970.
